Please read the "Science of Hitting" by Ted Williams. I will add "hitter teach yourself"

I gave that book to my son about 7 years ago. Shockingly he read it. I may actually miss him when he goes off to college
Same here. I remember the first time, he read it on a long car ride to a tournament (and so did I). At some point he lost it, and asked me to buy a new copy.
The book should be read monthly and we will have quiz.

From day one of coaching kid pitch I brought out a kid size of this graphic to explain getting your pitch. My son adopted the philosophy into his hitting. His high school coach commented he was one of the hitters that had a pitch by pitch plan at the plate.

Even though my kid just hits BP dingers after shut-outs now, he still goes back and re-reads this sometimes just to remind himself how the good hitters are thinking...
