Posted this on general forum but was suggested should post on hitting forum. Could the hitting gurus take a like at a clip of my 14 yr old and give some feedback. we're thinking there's too much up and down with head thru swing, also after swing feet end up narrower than during stride, lifts back foot up and forward, what is cause and possible remedies. Thanks so much. Hope all are having good holiday season.Hitting video

Your swing is powerful but long. Looks like your sweeping with a broom. Your hands are connected to your hip giving you a powerful swing. The bat head is lagging behind your body, giveing stretch and stored energy. but because the body is ahead, it has already determined the target of the bat head early, locking the swing and not giving it adjustability.

Try moving your Tee about a foot or shoe length deeper.

This will make your contact point approximateley over your front knee.

Using same mechanics while adjusting to new contact point, you automatically shorten your swing to contact while still being short to the zone.

If you attempt this deeper contact point, please do a video showing your results, good or bad.

Thanks.
I just downloaded this and looked in slo-mo.

His swing looks great.

However, in the 3rd swing, he started driving his hands forward too soon, which makes him appear to sweep. So, work on consistency.

BTW, the tee placement is perfect - at front knee. He should practice taking outside and low pitches at back of his foot, and down the middle pitches at middle or front of his foot.
