It really felt like maybe the distance numbers were short. I really didn't may much attention to the exit velo numbers. There was a dad in the cage before my son. He obviously had played some baseball in his past as he had a pretty good swing. He was clobbering the ball and he was commenting on how it wasn't going as far as he thought it should be. He kept blaming the squishy balls. But I am wondering if the employees have the ability to change the settings on the simulator to make numbers look better/worse just like they can change the conditions in a golf simulator for people trying out clubs. I would think that they would inflate the numbers though to get people to buy new bats. 

Distance was phony. Way too short. Hitting foam balls with baseball bats seems silly. Although I got into a game of who could hit it farther with my college ball player, who really wants to hit foam balls? Now as far as getting a feel for the swing with each bat a person may want to purchase? Sure. You won't get the sound.

HitTrax does not measure spin rate so it can not give exact distance.  HitTrax distance would be used to show the relationship between different hits.  For spin rate you would need to use a Rapsodo.   With HitTrax the most important values are exit velocity and launch angle,  but most people stair at the shinny object.  The graphical interface and distance.
