Hey guys, I just got cut from my JV team for the second year straight. I'm a sophmore ofcourse. I went 20 for 20 in the cage (making contact with 20 pitches/ hit probably 13-15 with solid contact) ran 60 time just over 7 and had 15 strikes in a 20 pitch bullpen session. They cut me due to my strength but kept a kid who's about 4'11/5'0 and way less strong than me. But I've always loved hockey as well, and my friend has asked me to play hockey for my school next year since it's technically a club sport and you can't get cut. The current hockey season is going on and they have a tournament in April as well. Would I be able to play hockey next year and try out for baseball? I know there are still basketball players that are trying out for varsity and they're currently in states. Or would I have to pick one? My mom suggested that since it's unlikely i get a baseball scholarship now, that I play the spring, summer, and fall leagues I play in and then get into a college and try-out for their team in college and play hockey the next two years. So I have 2 questions?

Would I be able to play hockey(technically a club sport/but plays in the local Flyers Cup(playoffs) and then try out for baseball?

What do you think about my moms idea? Could I still possibly be drafted? I did read an article about a guy who never made his HS team but made his local community college team and was drafted since he was pumping 90s and struck out nearly 2 per inning.

Btw last spring I was 6-1 with a 1.92 ERA and struck out 69 in 33 innings.

That's up to your school.  My kids go to a big HS here in IL (~3000 students).  The varsity coaches will hold spots at my kids school if there are a couple of kids who were on the team the year before and who are still involved in the basketball playoffs when tryouts are held.  I would check with the coach and see what his policy is.
