What is the average speed for high school varsity player running from home to 1st?

For us the average is about 4.4 seconds. We shoot for 4.3 or better.

i believe for LHH, MLB avg. is 3.9/4.0 and for RHH is 4.1 ... so h.s. guys should be between 4.1 and prob. 4.4 ... the slower guys obvioulsy higher and faster guys could me MLB avg. or better...

Just curious as to the difference in average times with a lefty versus a righty?
Sorry Diablo snuck that one in before I did. When is the proper instant to start timing--at the point of contact, when the runner starts to run, or when?
