Fact of life, brite bulbs get noticed!!!

And it's certainly lights out for the poor bulb that happens to short out!

Here's a question for all you lighting experts...

My little 7 Watt bulb simply SHINES...he ALREADY has a full tungsten filament...

...We did everything...letters to Home Depot, attended the national home lighting show, sent videos of him turning on and off (a beautiful sight).....

...somehow he did not make the National 7-8 Watt All Bulb List!!...I'm very, very upset!....

My neighbors low voltage, little pen-light, doesn't have nearly the luminescence as mine and HE made it!...

Now I am really worried about his chances of being invited to the 9&10 Watt Nationals in a couple years..

What can I do?

To be blunt
There is a possibility that you are seeing your young bulb through magnified glasses, thus making him appear much brighter than he actually is.

As far as your neighbor goes, I have seen the light in action, LOOKED LIKE A LASER POINTER TO ME! STUD BULBAGE...Quite possible we see him on top of an air traffic control tower some day.

Don't be discouraged though, a lot of wattage can be gained over the years. Keep working on the core AMPS and wattage will certianly improve.

Good Luck!

Hmmmm dang it ... nowwe have to worry about the politics of light bulb rankings. Have you talked to PrettyGlaringStaff for his thoughts on your little Watt? I tell you, with all the naysayers and political parents and coaches out there, it sure can KILL-A-WATT's hopes and dreams, can't it?

Perhaps you might try this new enhancer, which I understand from many environmentalists, is safe for the atmosphere and more importantly, can't be tested for use by the players:

PS I have been reading Woody's posts far too long now
