Does anybody know how many total games are played the entire month of July at all ages in Atlanta (not just Lakepoint)? And, how many at Jupiter (eg. Roger Dean)? I'm looking for fun data for a blog I'm writing. I assume it has to be thousands at each venue but roughly how many thousand? Tens of thousands?

You might want to look through the tournament schedules as they appear to number each game - look at the last scheduled game and that is how many for that tournament. Actual answer is "it depends" on how many teams sign up. A recent WWBA tournament had over 1,200 games for a single class. I would guess between 10,000-20,000 games each summer for Atlanta.

If you look up PG, USSSA, Triple Crown, Grand Slam tourneys then take that number and multiply by an additional 25% to cover the local tourneys you may get a decent idea of the total games played in the ATL area in July.

I also tried to find the number of ball fields (as in city-operated, too) in the US. With apologies to Rumsfeld, that quantity is one of those knowns you can't know. Google does NOT know everything after all.

So for just Atlanta PG, there were/are three tournaments in July, the 15u, 16u & 17u WWBA. 17u began Jul 1, and the 15u ends Jul 22.
Championship game for each age is game #:
15u: 985
16u: 1246
17u: 1391
So in total, 3,622 games played for Perfect Game in Atlanta metro area during July (actually, during a 3 week span 7/1 - 7/22).
As Shuler points out, probably better to count Ft. Myers instead of Jupiter. More actual PG events there.
