..what do you teach or what were you taught?

 

A prevalent conventional teach at lower levels is to line up knocker knuckles (or close) but if you look at many MLB guys, they wrap quite a bit - much closer to lining up big knuckles.

 

Thought I'd throw it out here for discussion and opinions on what is behind the differing philosophies.

When I coached lower levels I ignored knocking knuckles because half the time kids did not know which ones were used for knocking. Instead I would have them work on holding the bat palm up/palm down at the impact point and gripping from there, which usually results in being a little past knocking knuckles.
