Here's what we have been talking about on the HS Baseball Web in July. I apologize for getting this update out a little later than usual - I receive a report each month about the 15th.

Quick, before you click on the list below, WHICH STATE do you think had the most active forum topics? *

Here are the 5 busiest topics from July:

AABC CM 18U Regional by DBAT GM (with 192 posts and 12786 page views)

Summer League Playoffs by Mike F (with 131 posts and 10279 page views)

MMWS by Mickey Mantle World Series (with 176 posts and 9481 page views)

2007 Verbals by Waffle (with 85 posts and 7332 page views)

Premier Baseball 16U Championship by Texan (with 116 posts and 6698 page views)

As you can see, we're talking about all the action out there on the diamond! Of course, we're also out there playing and watching the games, and sitting at our computers a little less, which shows up in the typical summer activity levels:

We had 1.5 million total page views in the forums for July, down just a bit from the non-summer months' average of around 2 million. We started about 800 new topics, and out of about 8,000 total members, almost 900 of us posted in July, while many more just visited and read. And we added 297 new members.

What's the cost for all this activity?

Our July forum bill (paid Aug. 1) was $314.60. Yup, it costs both time AND money to run our forums. Membership is free, but voluntary member donations help a lot in paying our monthly bill. With both of my boys heading off to college this week, I will especially appreciate any members who feel they are able to contribute to the monthly bill during the coming year. You can visit our Donate page to find a PayPal link or the address to mail a donation.

THANK YOU to all of the parents, players, coaches, scouts, and fans who make the HS Baseball Web something very special!

I can't believe I skipped the most important THANK YOU in my note above:

As always, thank you SO MUCH to the HS Baseball Web MODERATORS. This site simply would not be the encouraging and mostly-positive environment that we sometimes take for granted, without the wonderful work of our moderators.

P.S. I never take them for granted!
