I coulda sworn there was a thread out here titled "September 11". It went a couple of different directions, then wisely got moved to Unusually Unusual.

But then, poof...

It wasn't particularly remarkable or uniquely controversial (unless I missed something towards the end of it) - but I'm almost certain that it WAS.

I get that this is a privately owned forum, and is not subject to the First Amendment...
But disappearing threads are a little creepy.

I thought the practice around here was to just Zap individual posts (or posters) when we got uncomfortable? Was EVERYBODY so far out of line on that discussion???

Actually, I was being critical of the US Intelligence community, not being paranoid about some kind of insidious government wrong-doing. ( There's a huge difference between passing out performance reviews and accusing people of corruption. )

Ironically, I don't think the guy who's always mentioning he used to work for the NSA agrees with that.

FWIW, I really don't believe any of them. Most large or powerful organizations struggle even pulling off simple annual budgeting cycles, let alone mystifyingly clever cover-up schemes like you hear about. There's just too many agendas and individual ambitions - massive conspiracies just don't exist IMO.
