Today is the 50th anniversary of one of the great iconic sports shots of all time. It’s arguably #1 in the NHL. If I have to describe it you’re not a hockey fan.

So, how about a list of iconic sports shots? There are probably more in baseball than any other sport given it’s long history. I had about thirty in the game room of our house before selling it. My son and his friends learned a lot about the history of baseball from the pictures.

Rather than list a lot of them I’ll start with Carleton Fisk, 1975 game six homer, Willie Mays’ catch in the 1954 World Series and Hank Aaron’s 715th home run.

You’re up!

So, you've captured a couple that I thought of immediately when I read the thread.   1980 USA hockey team beating Russia was the first to come to mind.  The greatest sports moment in my lifetime.  The second was Dave Roberts stealing second in ALCS.

Additionally, I've added the greatest tennis match I've ever seen and that Butler inception with Seahawks on the one-yard line with a Super Bowl virtually in their pockets.

Just need to comment on the Orr photo.  I use that photo and a little video clip in the class I teach as we have a case on the Boston Garden.

Moreover, son #1 used to be #4 when he was little in hockey and when asked why he would say (and this is NOT in Boston) "4 for Orr (but he did not say his Rs properly so it was more like fow fow ow)."

Finally, I met the man/myth/legend a year and a half ago at a golf tournament in Cape Cod and was as nice as they come.  Got my own photo with him too!
