Well.....I obviously don't know what it is like in College baseball but I can say my son has heard from more than one coach "You don't get to argue with the umpire, if there is something to argue about I will do it."...looks like this coach might take that to the extreme but I wonder how his players feel about it.

The guy is maybe a loose cannon obviously, but his team just may make it to Omaha.

And I agree with the announcer, you have to give some leeway, especially when you see call after call being very questionable.

South Carolina's coach was ejected from friday's game as well, same issue, very questionable balls and strikes.

Coach Avent and his dog were bitten by a copperhead just a few weeks ago.  He then killed the copperhead with an umbrella and took it to the hospital with him.  One tough son of a gun!

Elliott Avent bitten by copperhead

Anyways, of course no coach would put up with that from a player.  I know nothing about Coach Avent (even though NC State is about 10 minutes away from our house) other than a coach I trust seems to think highly of him.

We all do things to embarrass ourselves. Somehow I find this kind of entertaining, but doesn't affect me too much otherwise.

He got tossed again either today I think, suspended 2 games this time (not sure what it was for)...missed today's game against Coastal and will miss their next game as well (whether it is in the Supers or the first game of next year, last I saw they were in a weather delay leading 5-3 in the top of the 9th).

Probably not a two-game suspension; most likely it's three. A three-game suspension is automatic for anyone other than the head coach who gets ejected more than once in a season for arguing.

Never mind the above--I was thinking he was the assistant...he hasn't been one of those in a while. The two-game suspension is for prolonged arguing after ejection.

How's the dog?

The best I can tell, ACC schools like NC State are the only ones in college baseball who get bad calls going against them...

Here's to you Coach Avent...

Actually I saw the OSU coach, Josh Holliday get really upset with the umpire regarding a bad call.  And as mentioned Chad Holbrook was pretty upset as well in the Columbia regional.

Those arent ACC schools.

Holbrook had every right to be upset, the guy behind the plate sucked Friday night.
