Our RBI club is very active supporting the team and I’m seeking suggestions of neat things to add to the high school ballpark to make a more enjoyable fan experience.

  • At some point I would like to do a wall of alumni who went on to the next level or who made it to professional baseball. Anybody have any image to share of one that really stood out?
  • We are getting custom Cornhole boards for the ballpark next week. Anything else we should consider?
  • We are looking at banners that you mount on light poles. I really want the logo on multiple surfaces at the ballpark.  Suggestion?
  • Next year we will probably live stream home games on the web. if you have been thru that, what suggestions do you have?
  • We put LED light strips in the press box windows set to the school color to create some very affordable ambiance.  they look great at night.
  • Patriotic bunting is being hung up on the fence this Friday for the home opener.
  • Yesterday I ordered 'trading cards'.  I put the team photo on the back and individual shots of each player on the fronts of the cards.  hopefully they look as good in person as they do online!  We will be passing out a card to each fan at the gate and they can trade them to try to get their son’s card.  A neat way to get fans to interact with each other.  Some cards will also be used for senior night shadow boxes.  any silicone wrist bands or other affordable handouts at the gate ideas?
  • I want to get local youth teams involved.  we are working on getting them to stand on the field with players for the National Anthem.  any other ideas that you've seen that worked well?
  • and lastly, I want to get alumni involved.  other than a homecoming night , what else have you seen done that  worked great?  we sold bricks and that went OK.

in the last 5 years we have put out some picnic tables, remodeled our entry gate, concession stand and press box and built a new batting barn.  those are all very nice.  the new audio equipment in the press box is wonderfully clear anywhere in the ballpark (PM me if you want insight) !

next year I suppose we remodel the Locker Room, Bullpen, Dugouts or maybe the Public Bathrooms?  those are all functional but could be made nicer.

thanks for any suggestions!

Bandera;

You have achieve a great objective and goals. Congratulations. When I coached our Summer team I invited Tommy Lasorda to speak at a banquet. We sold out the Vets center [500 tickets]. Received "negative" press. "A Dodger in Giant's Country". Next day it flooded in Sonoma County and use the Vets Bldg for the "homeless".

You did not mention the game program [important]  or the 1st ball "thrower" for opening day.

thanks for ideas Bob.  we don't do a program, but we have laminated QR codes posted for schedules, rosters, and the GameChanger feed.  We will look having someone throw the opening pitch!

this year we have added a live performance of the National Anthem for most Varsity games; our new wireless microphone system made that a lot more practical.  I think it ads to the fan experience.

The paper program should have ads as it has a retention life of 30 days.

Our school did a paper program book, with ads from businesses, player ads from family, team history and records, profile of each player, etc.  They are great keepsakes, in addition to being nice to have during the games.  I think the ads mostly paid for the program (which was given away free), but it was also a fundraiser for the team.

Our schools also all gives out a roster sheet with home and away teams at each game (so that you can tell who the players are).  I suppose one could sell ads for those, too.

We do senior banners, hung on the backs of the bleachers; the seniors get to take them home at the end of the season.
