In-State for Out-State

Someone told me tonight that my son (from NC) can get out-of-state tuition reduced to in-state tuition at a SC school if he has an overall GPA of 3.8+. This sounds like a pipe dream, but it sure would change things.

My understanding of reciprocity in NC was that what little it covered was ending soon.

Anyone?

I was researching this very topic for my middle son who wants to study engineering or marine science possibly out of state. Swampboy provided a lot of useful info in this thread (above). Thanks swampboy. I googled "academic common market" as he suggested and got a long list of links and states involved.
