We received an eval in the mail from a D1 college camp - lots of categories (ex: fielding - approach, footwork, etc) and a rank of 1 - 5 for each with the value for my son circled. The comments were just a sentence about how fast his throws were. Would you please help me put the number values in perspective? What does it mean to have mostly 5's or mostly 4's?

4's and 5's mean the D1 phones will be ringing off the hook ... if that didn't happen then your guess is as good as mine.

My husband spoke to the asst coach - had a question about something on the eval, and the coach was lovely, answered the question about our son and then answered my husband's question about interpreting the eval. Below is what my husband came away with:

I'm sorry - I don't mean to be rude, but I'd rather not share that information. I just wanted to post what the scores mean in case there are others who didn't know.
We were reassured, though, that the assessment was consistent with our view of our son.
Congrats and enjoy the ride. And I applaud your determination to keep it 'in house' so to speak.
