Yes, it is easier to gain admission to Ivy league schools as opposed to the general public if you are an athletic recruit, however, in most cases, if they want you they will ask you to apply early decision. There are previous discussions on Ivy league admissions that you will find if you search Ivy league.
The student will still need good grades, test scores, etc but there will in most cases be a slightly lower threshhold if they are interested in you for baseball. Be aware that Ivys do not offer athletic scholarships.

Athletic ability and that letter from the coach give a student athlete that intangible element that gets a sudent accepted to an Ivy League school.
Because Ivy League standards or guidelines are such, each student will be bringing something with them that will add to the academic experience.
On average of the many thousands who apply to Ivy League schools, only about a thousand are accepted at each school a year. That intangible element is more often the difference in being accepted or not.

It is easier if you are an athlete to get accepted at an Ivy. Each school handles their admits slightly differently, but in general the coach will write you a letter of recommendation, which will go into your admissions file. I do believe all will ask you to apply early decision/SCEA or through whatever early admit program they have at their school. Many will also prequalify you academically before they talk to you, so that they know if they recommend you, and you apply early, you will qualify and get accepted, but you do have to do a full application, etc. They do use an academic index (at least I know some do) to qualify you.
As I said, not all schools work the same. Some will present an entire class of recruits for admission, and make that class have a certain academic average in order to make the index, some go off of each recruit, etc.
In the end though, if you are a really good student and have a good baseball talent, they should be interested.

Keep in mind that a baseball coach, other sports may be different, cannot get a player in with mediocre grades---his grades have to be equal to other qualified applicants--the coach can make the difference in cases like this
What kind of ACT/SAT scores, GPA, and curriculum is needed as a baseball player to get accepted into and IVY? Any ideas?
