Haggerstown appeares to have a very competitive squad each year, at least for the two years my son played for Catonsville CC. We had tough games. Alleghany was pretty strong team last year. In my sons second season a SS from Alleghany transfered to Catonsville. They made a nice MI combination. I'm not sure why he transfered.

I don't know the programs very well, but both coaches and team seem to be well coached and they behaved themselves.

Catonsville has a great coach. His name is Dan Blue. He likes to practice, develop his players and send them on to 4-year schools. We had very extensive conversations on different players, his team and BB in general. We still talk and email. He even wanted to see my son play with the Outerbanks Daredevils this past summer while vacationin there. I thought it was nice of him.

I'd also recommend looking in to Frederick Community College. They've built quite a program there and they've made some noise on a national level over the last number of seasons.

It depends on what you are looking for. All of the college's that you have mentioned have top-shelf head coaches. Coach blue at Catonsville, coach Bazarnik at Alleghany, who is a legend, and coach Bennett at FCC are great coaches. I coached at FCC before leaving to try my hand at scouting. You really can't go wrong at any of those schools as far as baseball is concerned. Academically I can not speak for the other schools but FCC is tough.

I have heard great things about Coach Blue at Catonsville. He apparently has a reputation of getting a pitcher's pitching up. My son has a teammate from last year that was recruited by him. He sounded like a great positive man. I have a neice that goes to Hagerstown and loves it there but I know nothing of their ball program. But if you have any particular questions on the academic I can ask her.

Does anyone have an opinion about Chesapeake College in Southern Maryland?

Chesapeake College on the Eastern Shore: I like what the coach has done. Obviously in the JUCO world it is year to year, but he has improved the program tremendously.

I do not know much about College of Southern Maryland.
