Friend says his kid just made the juco team. I asked how do you know.
He said there were like 70 kids at the fall practices and now they cut down to 35 and his kid is one of the 35.
The question...what about something who transfers into the school for the spring semester? Couldn't they play for the team and bump one of the 35?

An incoming transfer player at semester is likely to take away a player’s starting position but not likely to bump anyone off the roster.
I thought I heard from Walters State (JUCO D1 powerhouse) that they had a roster of 27 (maybe that is a travel roster?) but do not know if I heard that correctly. They bring in ~ 20 freshman a year and redshirt 15-18 of them.
I expect there to be a lot of dropdown kids this year at lots of mid-high end JUCO's.
Yes, dozens of things can happen to affect this player's status, just as is the case with pretty much any player in any program. Why not just congratulate him for making it through the gauntlet to this point and be happy for him?
Sometimes we humans seem to be fixated on the negative instead of seeking out the positive. Unfortunate.
