It might be a bad time right now. Seasons kickin off soon. After June is best bet but you can still make contacts and visits on your own. You can even attend games. This summer should be real busy for your kid. Look up all colleges he would like to see or attend for visits/tryouts/camps/combines and start a road trip. A busy summer is a good summer. Someone will see his talent.
I agree with baseballdad. However, I would still contact the jucos. If they know about you early, there may be some days to bring you in for workouts. When I was a juco coach, the worst time to get a recruit in was during the conference part of the schedule (early March on). But we still had kids come work out with the team on practice days.
Getting your name out there to jucos is very important. Early in the season is better than the summer, so they may be able to come see you play during the high school season too. The more chances for people to see you, the better the opportunity.
