Ken,
I thought you would love this. Sorry I do not have much time to talk anymore, but all my time is spent preparing my 12 year old for his player evaluation.

The Amateur Baseball Report (ABR), youth's premier player ranking source, will
be passing through a city near you in the next couple of months. Do you have
your spot reserved? The ABR staff will run over 50 Player ID camps Nationwide to
identify the best USSSA has to offer. Due to the overwhelming response, we have
added additional Player ID Camp sites, which will serve as the foundation for
the ABR Player rankings. Please visit www.amateurbaseballreport.com for the
additional dates & locations.
The Amateur Baseball Report is a youth-driven (9U-18U), state-specific baseball
magazine which will cover USSSA teams, players, and coaches. The ABR will offer
instructional & educational pieces for coaches and parents, rank players &
teams, and provide player journals and Q & A's for all involved. In addition,
the ABR will provide USSSA tournament, showcase, & league coverage.
The ABR is the first comprehensive baseball magazine to feature player rankings.
We have set a nationwide search to discover the best USSSA players. Our team of
professionals (pro scouts, college coaches, and former pro players) will be
coming to your town to evaluate all interested players ages 12U-15U. Below is an
overview of the evaluation process.
Pitchers
They will throw bullpens (no hitters) and be evaluated on velocity, location,
off-speed, and mechanics. If pitchers are also position players, they can be
evaluated at that as well.
Catchers
They will catch bullpens and take pop times (throws to second base). They will
be graded on their receiving, blocking, and throwing (quickness and strength).
Catchers will also take batting practice and run (home to first or 40time).
Hitting evaluations will include mechanics, bat speed, power, and ability to
make contact.
Infielders
They will take ground balls at deep short and throw across the field to first
base. They will be graded on their mechanics (glove work, foot work), and
throwing (accuracy and strength). Position players will also take batting
practice and run (home to first or 40time). Hitting evaluations will include
mechanics, bat speed, power, and ability to make contact.
Outfielders
They will take fly balls in right field and throw to third base. They will be
graded on their mechanics (read on balls, how they catch ball, and foot work),
and throwing (accuracy and strength). Position players will also take batting
practice and run (home to first or 40time). Hitting evaluations will include
mechanics, bat speed, power, and ability to make contact.

"The Amateur Baseball Report is the next step in the evolution of USSSA
Baseball. USSSA Baseball has always strived to bring innovative and fresh
approaches to youth baseball. The ABR will enhance the players' and parents'
experience with USSSA; along with providing much needed education about the game
we all love."
