if any BASEBALL money is awarded, the 25% requirement must be met - IF the player qualifies for academic aid that can be counted toward the 25% .. of course with the academic $$ it could be well over 25%

if player is getting -$0- baseball money he is termed a "walk-on" ...
he could be getting -$0- aid or a full academic ride - just no athletic aid

the roster is 35 .. many already do/or will stick to the spirit of the rule ...
some programs will try to get around it by bringing extra recruited walk-ons in for fall, then trimming the team to 35 & help the extras with transfer to JC, or DII-DIII

many programs have operated this way & will continue, however it's important to note that IF the player is getting any baseball $$ & the player leaves for any reason, his money is not available again until the next yr (fall) - so it wouldn't be smart to run him off unless he's an absolute headache
