Some coaches are influenced by those who raise big bucks for the booster club, others by those who have influence in the administration, etc. And some do their job the best they can without regard to such things.
Good coaches are influenced by the kids talent. but from where I stand doing this has become harder and harder. People will do with what you let them. If you let the above into the mix dont complain.

rz, thanks for your honesty. We all can be certain none of your detractors have ever crossed the line when faced with a split second decision. Speaking from the heart about real emotions, for me, make this a most special place and keeps me coming back. Thanks to all those who brave the PC crowd and tell how they really feel as opposed to spewing some touch-feely "look what a wonderful person I am" line of ****.

i have never met you but feel as though i know you. most everyone of us has done some things that we aren't exactly proud of. not that we wouldn't do it again ,just not proud of. most guys our age have mixed it up a little when we were young,that's how it was done. usually works to establish the pecking order. i guess it depends on where and how you were brought up. i worked my whole life in construction, it wasn't uncommon to have fights breakout on the jobsite. it sounds like most people here haven't been there. today you were wrong, 30 years ago not so wrong. maybe. but i do understand why you did it, and i'm sure the coach did too. and bottom line you apoligized. lesson learned,move forward.
the one poative here is the girls learned to dislike that kickball game.lol.
