Karns and Knoxville Halls battled for the lead in 3-AAA today at Halls. Halls had their Ace, lefty Jeffery Lockwood on the mound. Jeffery had a fine night as he struck out 9 Karns batters and scattered six hits while only walking only one. The one walked batter hurt the Red Devils as with two outs and a full count Wesley Lee hit a two run home run in the top of the second inning.

Karns would counter with lefty, Landon Chester on the mound and Landon would scatter five hits and only give up one run in the bottom of the 5th inning on back-to-back doubles.

With the score 2-1 in the bottom of the 6th inning and with no outs, the Red Devils would put runners at the corners on a Beaver error and a walked batter. Coach Sharp would make a pitching change and bring in their Ace, Shane Ownby. Shane would throw only four pitches in the inning to get the Red Devils to hit into a double play and then retire the next batter.

Karns would add one run in the top of the 7th inning on a single and two Halls errors for the final score of 3-1 as Shane would shut down Halls in the bottom of the 7th inning and record the save.

Karns is 5-0 in 3-AAA while Knoxville Halls is 4-2 Cool

Thanks Guys,
Wes sat out the Farragut game the day before because physically he couldn't go, which he hated, but he wanted to be able to play against Halls.

I felt good for him, I usually work on Wednesday night, but switched for Friday and I was glad because I missed his last HR.

Bizazz,
You have too many good arms at West to play in our District. Smile
Does young West get his power from that red goatee? Cool

Yes, West has plenty of arms. What West doesn't have is the ability to apply consistent offensive pressure and make routine plays in the field. Last night 4 of 6 second inning runs scored after a probable 5-3 double play ball was dropped, with 1 out in the books. We relinquished the late lead when 2 runs scored after the pitcher threw a wild throw to first on a swinging bunt. They tied the game at one point on two passed balls.

Enough of my bitching. Congratulations again on a BIG district win.
