CFCC is Central Florida Community College in Ocala, just north of Orlando. I don't know the coach there, but I do know a few players currently rostered, and their parents would have done their homework on the program. It would be worth exploring.

The coach at Lake City is intense. But that's one of those 'irregular verbs', depending completely on how you regard/deal with Type A personalities. (You know: My coach is intense. Your coach is a jerk. His coach is a maniac. All the same behavior, colored by your loyalties, how you're being treated, who's a direct rival, etc.).

Junior Colleges in Florida are populated by a number of DFEs and scout-placed players. The competition is excellent. Pretty much any one would be worth a visit.

From 'Nice Guys Finish Last' by Leo Durocher:

Baseball lives at the center of a never-flagging whirl of irreconcilable opinions.
Last Spring I spoke with several professional scouts at various JUCO games regarding different JUCO coaches in trying to find the right program for my son.

A common theme was that Coach Clark was one of the better coaches in Florida.

One Scout said that he was "the best coach in Florida, 2-year or 4 year", he then said " If you want your son to be a better baseball player, a better person and an a better student then you want to play for Coach Clark" at Lake City.

This same coach also was very high on Couch Touma at Datytona Beach.

The other thing about Coach Clark ... he is "old School", tough, but fair and expects kids to respect the game.
