Only thing I can think of is you maybe are landing with a stiff or straight knee. My son was always taught to land soft. That means land with your front leg bent to absorb some of the recoil, then you stiffen or straighten the knee up as your body follows through so you are throwing against the front leg.

If you really are leading with your shoulder then, IMHO, you have more important concerns than landing hard. For example, you will likely find it more difficult to maximize hip and shoulder separation. In general, I would recommend fixing these other things and seeing what effect it has on the landing - it may soften up on its own.

But this is all just speculation without seeing you pitch. You really need to post some video before anyone can offer good suggestions.
