My son is on a team that will be playing in the Little League Junior Regional tournament in early August, which is for 13 and 14 year olds.
Little League is not the dominant baseball organization in Oregon for this age group - the dominant one is "Junior Baseball of Oregon.
My son's team qualified to play in both organizations, and because our district hosts the regional tournament which has 12 teams from western states, his team gets an automatic berth in it.
My questions:
1) Anybody on this board have a kid coming to the regional tournament, which is to be played at Pacific University in Forest Grove, Oregon?
2) Anybody have experience with this tournament or with the Junior Level Little League World Series?
I am interested to know what the competition is like. Since most of the better players in Oregon play in the "Junior Baseball of Oregon" leagues, the Little League teams in Oregon are not very competitive.
What about the state champion teams that we will be facing in the regional? Anybody have any experience?
