seriously? i guess tx husker and gametimer would have the board believe that every prestonwood player is from plano, and every faith player is from grapevine, and that all of their players have been in each of the schools since middle school, since kindergarten, since preschool? since birth?

yes, i agree the commute from lubbock to midland might be a little long, but from coppell to argyle? why would the kid need to move? it is probably a 20 minute drive.

is there a tapps rule prohibiting senior transfers? btw- i know the player from coppell, and he is not a senior anyway, he is a junior. both kids transfered well before the transfer deadline for baseball. if the schools followed the transfer rules that are in place, good grief let the players play.

tx husker- sit tight, maybe a wealthy baseball dad will show up at prestonwood with a whole team, like the basketball team the dad brought in a few years ago. you guys are still living the dream with that team.

transfers are simply a huge part of the equation in the world of private school athletics. nothing wrong with it either, as long as the rules are followed.
what???....what a good name for you! I made no comment about any kid from Coppell. I know the Jr. kid you're talking about and I have no problem with that transfer.

My comment was about the newspaper article that this link was about where a 2nd semester senior who was kicked off his HS team transferred to play baseball at a private school for the last few weeks of his HS career prior to graduating. Clearly he's transferring for athletic reasons only. TAPPS rules (UIL too for that matter...remember the FM to Coppell transfer a few years back?) say that not allowed, but maybe selective application of the rules will allow it.

No problem with the Liberty transfer here either. It is within the rules. I do have a problem with the Monterey transfer when it appears to be for athletic reasons only. BTW, our entire starting varsity is back from last year, so we have no transfers. We do have one new player that will probably end up on varsity that moved in one block from the school last summer.
TAPPS transfer rule...
If the new student transferred from any school (public or private) or Home School Organization, is in attendance on or before the following dates, he/she is eligible to compete in varsity TAPPS contests as soon as the transfer form is completed and ap-proved by the District Committee or the District President and Vice President in accordance with the following schedule:
Fall Sports September 8, 2010
Winter Sports December 8, 2010
Spring Sports February 23, 2011
