A good coach should pick the players for the JV team on talent. Being a sophomore should not make a difference. It's really not uncommon for a player to make the team after being cut the year before. If you keep working on your improving your game it should pay off. Never stop trying! Good Luck
There is no way anyone unfamiliar with your ability and the talent on your team can answer that question. What I can tell you is just because you got cut last year should have no bearing on wether you make the team this year. Our #2 or possibly #3 pitcher on Varsity this year is a Junior that got cut from our JV as a Freshman. Why did he get cut? Because his arm was very weak. Yes thats right two years ago he got cut because of a weak arm, very weak arm and now he is a major part of our program. Hopefully you have been working your butt off to improve and you will be ready this year to make an impression on the coaching staff. Good luck
Dukey-
Any good coach goes to tryouts with an open mind...and room on his roster for a kid that can really play, regardless of any past experiences. If you are good enough, he'll keep you...it's that simple. Go to tryouts with a positive attitude, outwork everyone in the gym, showcase your skills to the best of your ability, and hope for the best. Good luck. Coach Knight
