Do you happen to have a photo from a week after this one where a certain coach did a shot put of second base in the MMWS?

I never heard the story or saw the photo.

But I think I have a few more from the regional against some team in black. All I remember were baseballs falling from a hackberry tree in centerfield.
I wish Cade would come on here and tell the rest of the story.

Anyone seen the Lou Pinella commercial?

It was pretty much like that. Wink

(on a side note, seriously, if I had that moment to do all over again you would not have these photo's to post. It may have worked at the professional level, but it wasn't suitable in an amatuer baseball environment. Live and learn.)

This was supposed to be a post about good memories.

Thanks a lot Fuqua and MMWS.

Aw c'mon, Ken. Those pics are GREAT memories! I guarantee that every player at the field that night in McKinney would smile at the very thought of these pics. I only wish I had one of you in action the next year in Baton Rouge....

Thank goodness we have many years left to make memories with our own sons.

Hackberry tree in centerfield....I laughed out loud. Big Grin

Ken, I've got a good one of you actually running. Not bad for an old, fat man.

This was the game in 2004 that a very good DBAT 16 team was getting shutdown by a very good New York team. To say the lefty for the New York team was very good this game would be an understatement. Ken was trying to light a fire under them. That's all it was.

The umpire knew what was going on. The ump is Curtis Alexander from the Lubbock area. He also calls a lot of Big XII ball.

We almost started a new competition in our skills challenge the following year: The Ken Guthrie Coaches Base Throwing Competition.

I 'll go on record........I'd let Ken coach my kid any day. Period.
