Well, on the surface it looks like a bummer Christmas for Scott Skiles who just got fired.

On the other hand he is really better off not having to babysit that fragile group of players who apparently weren't "responding" to his coaching.

Like they say, you can't fire the players and in this case you probably can't trade them either because they are overpaid underachievers who nobody wants.

Wallace....a horrible move.
Heinrich....hurt feelings over the trade rumors? Fragile?
Gordon....one dimensional and sometimes no dimensional. he is going to wish he had taken the contract offer.
Deng.....What happened to moving to the next level?
Thomas....another kid who is just happy to collect the big bucks and every now and then put up a highlight

Good luck Skiles, although in a league where players don't want to be coached you may never get another chance. Maybe College would be better.

Even amongst coaches, Skiles was refreshing. If he made a mistake, he'd come right out and detail the mistake and tell you what he was doing to fix it. If someone wasn't playing well, he wasn't afraid to say so. Unusual candor from someone in that position.

I wish him the best, he seemed like a good man.
Skiles is the fall-guy. He helped a young, small, and overmatched team get to the playoffs 3 years in a row. They always played hard and got after you big time defensively.
This year for some reason they tuned him out. Silly turnovers, porous defense, and a general lack of effort. I thought he got as much as possible out of that team but they've been brutal this year.
It's tough being a Chicago sports fan!
