Time to brag, folks! I'm clapping

The American League affiliates rallied for three runs in the bottom of the eighth inning while Preston Claiborne posted the win and Baby Bombers teammate Chase Whitley earned the save in a 4-3 win over the National League before a festive All-Star Game crowd of 7,171 on a humid night at the Richmond County Bank Ballpark.

That's what I am talking about!
While watching a AA game in San Antonio last night, a young man who was charting for his team (Springfield Cardinals) behind home plate came up and introduced himself...David Kopp (TPM's son).

The thing I most enjoyed about this was the complete politeness with which he approached me...firm handshake, looked me straight in the eye, articulate...and had a very kind way about him.

Very nice of him...but a real pleasure for me...to put a face and handshake with "one of our own." Wink

TPM - You done good! He carries himself well and represents you and your husband well. That is a fine son you have raised!
Thanks JBB, that was very nice of you.
To add further, son texted me that ED was pitching and I said I knew and that his folks were there. He texted back, that must be the guy in the Standford shirt taking pics! I said you got that right. I never asked him to do anything. But he knows I am a big fan of Erik Davis and I guess he also knows what is the proper thing to do and what is not.

As a parent I have taught both of my kids, it's about being a good and kind person, your success in life is not determined by what you do, who you are, not how much money you make, but the impression you will leave upon others as you go through life.

A few months ago I introduced myself to a parent friend of mine's player, didn't go out of my way as he was on the concourse that day signing autographs ( a revolving player requirement for the team he plays for while at home). I congratulated him for his move up, and what I got was how he certainly deserved it and should have been there from the first day of the season. All I said to myself, was WOW, I don't care how good you are or think you are, I am NOT impressed.

When teaching your kids the skills they need in this game, don't forget those other skills they will need after the game is over. Then you can look back and say, I am not only proud for what he/she has accomplished but for the type of person he/she is.

Thank you fanofgame! I was hoping my song was not lost on anyone! Him and I have sung that song almost his whole life when something good happens in baseball!
TPM
Thank you. Yes, MC would have been proud.
Toughest for me was Senior Day @ Tulane...escorting Pres out through rows of his teammates. Thought my knees were going to buckle, boohooing all the way!It should have been Pres between both parents.
