RJM posted a link to an article in the Boston Herald about coping with the loss of the Cape Cod season.  After reading that article, I noticed this article about permanent MLB realignment based on the location of teams - East, Central and West.

I don't think this was posted on HSBBWEB yet - apologies if someone already linked to this article.  I thought it was a good idea worth sharing.  Wondered if other members here liked the idea or not.

I did not see this.  I did see a Jeff Passan piece from a couple weeks ago where one of the solutions he talked about was a _temporary_ realignment for 2020 that would be played around 3 regional hubs.

My reaction to that was oh, sure THAT'S JUST PROVES THAT THE PANDEMIC IS AN EXCUSE FOR FORCING THE DH ON THE NATIONAL LEAGUE.

And while I say that tongue-in-cheek, of course, it a) mostly likely would have that effect on NL rules, and b) is not the most outrageous theory expressed on this website.

I'd hate to lose the history of the two leagues.  I'm old enough to remember when each league had its own president and there were differences in the style of play, and even the strike zones differed.  The lack of inter-league play made the All Star Game and World Series even more special.  That said, I'm sure the geographical rivalries would get very intense.

While we're at it, I saw that ESPN will be televising Korean Baseball Organization (KBO) games https://sports.yahoo.com/repor...a-day-144941025.html . I wonder if someday we'll get a true World Series, with the winner of Korea-Japan playing the MLB champ.
