MSABC Classic

And, as I recall, a Howard County HS coach cried at the 2006-07 MSABC winter meetings that the players from his HS and from Howard County could not compete with the more talented players from the Southern Region Tryouts (which it was geographically located) & Eastern Region Tryouts so that his players could attend the MSABC Classic tryouts leading (which lead to both Team Maryland and the (Baltimore bias vs DC bias) Maryland HS All-Star Game in Camden Yard.

So the coach lobbied to the MSABC 'kangaroo court' and Howard County was realigned to the North Region (which it is not geographically located), with Balt City players and North Region, who, according to this Howard Cnty coach, can't play.

Unbelievable.

Shame on you MSABC President and admin!

Maybe you can explain to me why is Cecil County in the East??? Should they be in with Baltimore city and county and Harford county??

Do you have to be nominated by your coach or can the player apply and tryout?

The regional teams have been selected and posted to the website for the MSABC Classic www.mdsabc.org.

No interest in this event here in 6 years???

 

I see that the tryout date is scheduled for 5/18/14. Anyone have any recent experience with the MSABC?

Son attended this tryout yesterday. Saw a lot of the best baseball talent from the most successful High School and Travel teams in attendance. This seems like the best kept secret in MD baseball. Glad we stumbled onto it.

I attended the DH at Kelly Park. Coaches had breakfast at IHOP and the stories began. Overall the pitching was top shelf.  I enjoyed the grand weather and sitting with Ace, Opp, Clipper, and many of the young college coaches.  And very talented Mom's taking picof and selfies of their kids with the old' timers.

I see the Futures Team Rosters have been posted. My son was listed but we haven't heard anything from them. Do we just show up on the date of the game or is there some communication?
