Another example of MONEY talks!

Pirates, Brewers, Dodgers, Oakland, Texas, St. Louis, Florida, Arizona, Cubs, Sox, Cleveland, Toronto, Montreal, Baltimore, Mets, Detroit, Seattle...just can't compete.

If George is such a terrific "businessman" and baseball talent evaluator, why doesn't he go to Milwaukee and see what he can do with that team and their $30,000,000.00 payroll versus the $200,000,000.00 payroll of the Yankees!!

Major League Baseball...What a joke!

We've seen in start in basketball...with the empty seats...wait until it starts in baseball...and it will.
I'll be the first to say two things...one is the yankees are bad for baseball, you can blame guys like George and guys like Mr Boras. I will also say he is a great business man, he sees something he wants, he gets it. The revenue a-rod will generate will be great. We all know the cubs have the money, anyone who doesnt is blind, but they just dont spend it. They have the money to get Maddux, they could have gotten arod or javy, but they didnt. You cant get into wrigley so ticket revenue is great, they skalp their own tickets and now they get a piece of the rooftops, so they have the money, and there isnt a better time then now to spend it, when the city will not accept failure anymore, and as long as other teams in the central are loading up the cubs need to add one more arm. Wood had an unreal postseason, but his problem has been consistency, hoping he finds that, as well as prior doing what he does, they still need one more arm. Grab a sun times sports section and see my letter to the editor on Maddux. I have no pitty for the cubs, they can afford it, I feel for the small market teams. Just a side note, empty NBA seats has nothing to do with salary, it has to do with a league watered down with young players, it has to do with the lack or marquee matchups and rivals, there is no more Jordan/Bird, Magic/Bird...Bulls/Knicks, Lakers/Celtics.and because of that more and more fans are taking their eyes to the college level, which is more exciting and faster paced. The legends are gone, the rivals are gone. The east is like the american league central because all the talent has left and went out west, there are no more true centers. There is a lot of things wrong with sports these days, different in any case, but the loss of interest is due to the lack of talent..The should make a stipulation, if the trade goes threw and the yankees do not win it all, they should be banned from baseball!

I agree, bsaketball is horrible because there are no more "herous" or "legends" a kid wants to be like. Sure there are flashy lebron's for the kids, but the kids cant fill seats alone. The NBA with its lack of Defense, lack of rivalries, and the fact it can't have a consistently winning team is horrible. Thats why the NBA has gone down the drain. I loved it when I was 6-10 and watched the bulls with my father. Their rivalries with the blazers, pistons, sonics, and lastly jazz were the best. None of that now.
