I need to be more clear:

My Center fielder is not my son, he is my center fielder, I coach him.

He won't be playing at the Academy... he will be serving in the Air Force... right after his senior baseball season ends.

Thanks for all the well wishes... he is a kid that did not start out by being dealt a very good hand but he is doing very well.

Congrats to the kid and his coach..

Hope you have the same problem next season as a local team, one of the players enlisted, team went on a great run ended up in the state finals.  the enlisted kid had to leave for basics as soon as school was out, he didn't even know that his team won states until basics were over. The kids mom got to wear his jersey for games and got to accept his championship medal for him..

Trojan-Skipper - that is still quite an achievement as its a pretty grueling process to be admitted to one of the Service Academies.

One of the Seniors my son plays with is shooting for the Naval Academy.  He told me this week that he finished his interviews with our congressman & senators, and he understands he has a 1-in-53 shot since they can only recommend one student per district.

Amazing accomplishment for your CF!!
