Okay folks here's the definitive answer to all of this .......
If certain members continue to not "get it" then I will spend my free time removing them from the site. It will be as simple as that! I have stated several times that the moderators have my full 100% support and that if any member did not like that please go elsewhere.
This site IS NOT a democracy but what is known in the internet industry as a personal hobby site. I will not single any individual out in this post but may start sending emails to the primary offenders soon!
Yes it gets crazy every year during the winter months, but the line has been crossed! When close and dear friends of mine send me an email that they are no longer going to post on the site due to actions by others that are directed at them personally and then towards their sons ..... that's too much!
It is possible that some of you that have an opinion about everything and want to constantly "run down" the moderators and other "old timers" on this site should put mittens on your hands and try reading and learning for a change.
Yes there are members on this site that have opinions that differ from mine, and I admit that they may drive me a little crazy at times, but I also learn a thing or two from these same folks.
When folks as special as OnePlayersPop(OPP) make the decision to leave guess who I am going to side with?
OPP: Sorry to see you go. I have learned a lot from you. Best wishes in whatever "hobby" you choose next.

Gosh I hope you're right!!!
I will be looking to OPP and BigHit for advice very soon. Guys, don't bail on me now.
I’m sorry some posters have the feeling toward the moderators, like me, TRHit, BigHit, OPP, and TennDad, but they do. Do I have an agenda? Sure I do. I think everyone has an agenda. But to think these moderators' agendas are counter productive to the success of the HSBBW is just NOT true. Every moderator wants every parent and every player to get the best information possible. No two moderators are the same and our opinions will vary. Some moderators thought it was in the best interest of their sons to turn pro out of high school while other thought college was the best route while others may not have a son in baseball while others may be a coach of the game. I think the diversity in opinions is healthy but I also know things can get too diverse. If moderators were to set back and just “control” the dialogue with a delete button, the most important aspect of the HSBBW would be lost. Content control should be accomplished with a verbal response from a moderator but somehow that verbal response is taken as a repressive reprimand and that reprimand is construed as a inflammatory remark. It becomes a vicious cycle and the thread has to be closed by... guess who?... The moderator. Depending on which computer you’re on is whether you see this as oppressive or as simply maintaining control.
I came here searching for answers when my son was entering high school. With the help of other posters “WE” went through the maze of HS, the draft, and then to college. Who is “WE”? “WE” is everyone on the HSBBW. I’m thankful for all those people on the HSBBW. While I’m not a true student of the game, I did lean a few things about making the move from pre-high school to high school, through the draft negotiations, and on to college and how all these things happened and the affect they had on this parent and his son.
So, what’s different with the HSBBW now? Nothing really, except there are thousands of posters instead of a few hundred. Opinions come from many personalities that range from the outspoken weirdo, the self proclaimed expert, to the meek parent seeking advice for the first time. I’m sorry but the meek parent seeking advice for the first time is the most important person on this website. It is my agenda to see that these parents and players get the best advice possible.... You know, on occasion the best advice just might come from a moderator.

Attaboy, Fungo...sometimes you just have to put up with "stuff". There's and old saying that fits to the success of this site...
"The brightest light draws the most bugs!"
"The brightest light draws the most bugs!"

Fungo,

Wish you'd put your old signature back on your post...
Or can I borrow it?
"Never argue with an idiot...He'll knock you down, then beat you with experience!"

Amen, Amen, Amen!
Fungo, I agree with Dad04...that quote is the best description of what it's about. I remember back to June when I first joined the site and posted with a recruitment question. It was a little intimidating....but the responses were very helpful...even the responses from moderators! We need to make new parents and players feel welcome, assist them with advice and not make them feel like they just entered a war zone. Thanks
SInce this is page 5 I doubt that OPP will read this but...please give this another chance. Your contributions have been so valuable to all of us, and I (personally) will never forget your kindness when my son was so ill a few years ago. Your encouragement and prayers made such an impression and I will be eternally grateful.
The pathetic bag of hot air who started this will eventually disappear when he finds another new place to vent his questionable spleen.
You know, if regulars on the HSBW made a pact to just IGNORE the unmentioned posters, I bet they would go away!!!!
In the meantime, OPP, thank you for everything and please reconsider your decision.

I agree 100% but unfortunately, sometimes, it seems just too good a temptation to resist. We are all guilty of giving in to our frustrations at times, and I hope we can all ignore the irritants in the future.
