Bizzimom, Like BHD says it is good to be on the short list. It would be to your son's advantage if he were on more than one college short list. He needs to have a list of different colleges on HIS short list too. Dream schools are great and may turn into a match made in heaven but if he doesn't have options when signing time comes his "dream school" COULD turn out to be his worse nighmare.

Thanks guys

-- Infield: My son is an 2009 from the Northeast
--Fungo: He does have a short list of his own and there are a good number of schools that have expressed what seems to be sincere interest but..
this one sits way above the rest in his opinion.

We'll just keep encouraging him not to have tunnel vision. We've heard so many sad stories about kids
getting baited and strung along until the bitter end.

I suppose it'll all play out after East Cobb tournaments, World Wood Bat and a few other showcases.
Bizzimom, if your son is an '09 and has been told he is on the "narrow list," that is a good thing. Make sure to send his spring and summer playing schedules to the recruiting coordinator so the school can get a good look at your son this year.

You are wise to be casting a wide net yourselves and you are right -- it'll all play out after various tourneys and showcases.

No need to be stressed right now. There's plenty of time for that later! Wink

Best wishes!
