Here are 2 links to a video of me. This one is a regular speed swing: Regular speed
This one is my swing in RVP: Swing in RVP
Be gentle on me, I'm 57 years old! I have been doing research on hitting and trying to apply what I have been reading. The first thing I notice is I start my bat head too soon. What other advice can you give me to work on.

If you do it out of sequence, yes, it could be. The lower body has to provide power. The sequence has to go Hips, Handle, Bat head. It could also come from starting the hands improperly.
Babe Ruth said that hitting a baseball was the same as hitting a golf ball, except for the stride in baseball.

My two cents says that you should set up your tee about the same place you would set up your golf ball using a driver or 1 wood. For non golfers that would be slightly forward of center right in front of you.
Start your swing in a motion as if you were going to hurl the bat as far as your can directly in front of you (facing the opposite batters box), buut hold on to complete the swing.

The v that you notice forms with your arms, you want that to form just before contact.

Keep your swing relaxed, fast and in control.

Give it a try and post a video to compare to the original.
In the RVP video, at 0:12, your hands start coming forward/out, causing..

- arm bar
- downstream, your hips stop

At 0:18, your hips should stll be rotating, but instead your back elbow disconnects from your hip to reach the ball.

You also have some lunging caused by weak front hip rotation.

FYI, the tee is in the correct spot - the ball of the front foot (after stride).

Two simple fixes.
1. Keep your hands at your shoulder longer
2. Clear/turn your front hip as soon as your toe touches.
