I'm not trying to discourage people posting questions. But the vast majority of questions brought here are very simple to respond to. Simple if you know the answer. Most questions pertain to the National Federation. Go to the National Federation web site and order a rule book ($7 ?). Read it. Then re-read it. Put it on your night stand and read it when you see it sitting there. Excellent reading. What then happens is you know rules; and form concepts about rules; and you will know how to face an issue when it happens.

While rule study is important not everyone has a HS book. Other times you have to string rules together to get an answer. Sometimes the answer can be in a place you wouldn't think. There is a place for boards like this and others. Of course, this board is geared more to coaches and parents to ask umpires questions. There is still a decent amount of umpire to umpire discussion here.
