Need Help! Example: lets say this year, 2006 player attends University "A" and he asked coach to red shirt him this year because he will have very little playing time, Coach denies red shirt and player decides not to play, but finishes year academically at school, can player transfer next year to University "B" and play without sitting out a year. Player has already transfered once using 1st time transfer rule exemption. No schlorship money involved, walk on. Thanks!

Not quite enough information:
Question 1: Student attends a University but does not play ... did he red-shirt or was he just not on the team???

Question 2: You say he has already transfered once using the transfer rule exemption.

Transfering without the exemption normally means that the player must sit out a year, but if he is going down from D1 to D2, then I thnk that's not an issue. If he wasn't a member of the baseball team this uear at the university, then he's not subject to any transfer rules or restrictions either.

Everything hinges on his status with the team this season .... Red-shirt, medical red-shirt ... ???
Player is actually "sitting out" right now at school he decided not to play baseball this spring. I would think it kind of silly that he has to enroll in another school just to sit out a year. What if he decided to not to attend school
anywhere for one year? Would he then have to enroll and then "sit out"?

It shouldn't make any difference if he is not on a team, but with the NCAA you never know. Best to give them a call and then document names and get in writing.
