Nationally recognized catching program The New England Catching Camp will be returning to South Carolina, partnering with The Strike Zone for the 3rd straight year (located @ 26 Freedom Ct. Greer, SC). Jay and Kevin Weaver, the Director and Senior Instructor of the camp, accompanied by additional NECC Staff, will conduct a 3-day, 3-hour-a-day camp for both baseball and fast pitch softball, ages 8-18, February 8th-9th, 2014.

The 6-hour, two-day camps, one for the younger catchers and another for the older catchers, will be cumulative and will cover every aspect of the catching position including stances, receiving, blocking, throwing (arm motion and mechanics on throws to the bases) and some fielding skills. Each catcher will be held to a standard that parallels his or her skill level. Coach Jay Weaver and his staff will have the ability to challenge the older catchers throughout the extended weekend with higher velocities (85+ MPH for the guys, 65+ MPH out of a windmill for the girls).

For those of you who cannot commit to a two-day camp, we will be offering our single 2.5-hour clinics on Saturday and Sunday as well. They will consist of instruction on all aspects of catching skills including stances, receiving, blocking, throwing (mostly mechanics on throws to the bases) and some fielding skills.

Sorry Fred,

Unfortunately, nothing planned for that area this offseason. Might be down there in Fall 2014 - Winter 2015, but we don't start planning those camps until after our Summer Camps in July and August are finished.

Just keep checking our website, HSBBWEB, our Facebook page, etc. for updates.
