Hey HSBW,

I just finished my first year of college baseball and also my summer season . Due to family problems and a lot of personal reasons I have decided to not play this upcoming year and focus more on my grades . I still want to continue playing baseball my love for the game won't let me quit . I want to transfer after this year to a 4 year university . How can I do that and still play baseball even though I'm not playing this year ?

As long as you don't stop working during your time off, you can get workouts with clubs. Especially D2, D3 teams. If your grades are high enough to get enough financial aid to cover yourself so teams won't have to use up their 12 or so scholarship money, If they have an opening to take a chance that will take a free guy. It would be a good idea to research teams that have seniors this coming year at your respective position with no or little competition behind to know what that team will be looking for, and contact that team for a workout. If you have a friend or know someone who is close with someone on the team to get a recommendation, former coach, scout, etc, would help out greatly. Above all, if you can play, and you make it easy for them, i.e. don't make them spend their money. they will be more like to take a shot with you. Good Luck!
