I'm trying to decide on which mitt would be a better replacement for my old mitt. I'm leaning toward a Wilson A2000 because I know Wilson's are sturdy, reliable, and will last for a while. But I'm also considering a Mizuno MVP Prime, also good, but I'm never had a Mizuno mitt. The Mizuno is about $100 cheaper, but Wilson's tend to be worth the price.

My older son loves Mizuno's mitts (and their catcher gear too). He used an $80 or so mitt of theirs for 2+ years. Then I found a Mizuno Pro Limited (GMP20, an older model) for a good price - it's an absolutely outstanding mitt but like most great mitts it took a while to break in. Mizuno Pro Limiteds of any glove are amazing but VERY expensive at $300++ - but you can find good deals sometimes on ebay.
My 2017 son loves his Rawlings Pro Preferred. He wore out his Wilson A2K in a calendar year, which was unacceptable.
My son has used a number or a2000 gloves and they all lasted more then a year. His HS a2000 lasted 3 years. Once you get to the college level 1-2 years is about all one can expect out of a mitt.. Results can vary depending upon how well the particular glove was put togther .....if one takes proper care of it. The primary considerations s/b how well does it fit and can I control it. If your looking for improved pop times, the size/shape of the pocket will be an important consideration.
