Two of the teams - McCarthy and American Heritage have many of my son's former summer teammates.  Both of those programs are very good. Unfortunately they both play in the same district - so only one makes it out to state play every year. 

I don't see Malvern Prep on the 3/29 schedule. Did they drop out, or am I reading it wrong? 

Since they are not part of the state association (PIAA) they were barred from competing, apparently. So they were a late scratch.

I don't think the Vegas bookmakers would be too surprised -- 1 Georgia team and 3 SoCal teams in the final four.

Congrats to Orange Lutheran, who beat Dana Hills in the championship game today.

It was a really good field, and in a one game elimination type setup - I guess that any of these teams could have made it. It just takes a bounce here or there to change a whole game.

My favorite part of the whole thing is that 3 of the kids that pitched in this tourney were part of my son's 14U summer team a few years ago. That roster also had two more kids that are D1 pitching commits. The team was kinda good...

I would say that the fact that California has double the population of Florida is THE main reason.  No disrespect intended..it's just numbers.
