I'm obviously biased, but I felt that the Nike 5-Tool Baseball Fall Classic was a huge success. We had around 350 college and professional scout, and agents at the event to see the players.

The final was an exciting 2-0 victory by the Central Florida Renegades over the Orlando Scorpions. But the real story was the amount of phone calls that players from all the teams in this event have received since it ended. To me we were able to allow many players the opportunity to be exposed in front of many of the top baseball programs in the county.

Thanks for your kind words.

What team did your son pitch for?
sorry, but you know all the recruiters were there
to see the j.c.players,not the h.s.nike.you had
h.s.because p.g.was canceled so a few good h.s.
age teams played.the opinion of the recruiters
was that the h.s.did 'nt mean much and some j.c.'s showed well[pitcher from dbcc, tisone from
chipola, scarduzio from broward and some others]

thank you
First of all we had many recruiters that were very complimentary of the high school tournament including several ACC and SEC schools that missed some of the JUCO workouts to stay with the high school teams. To knock the high school portion when you were not even in attendence is not fair to the many top players that were there. I'd say that many of the college recruiters were very excited to see the level of players that attended.

Having said that the JUCO event was also terrific and was certainly the original carrot that was going to bring many college coaches to the Nike event.

As you know I think Perfect Game does a great job and runs a great event in the fall in Jupiter. We clearly would not have gotten as many colleges attending the Nike event if PG was not forced to postpone their event, but we would have gotten a lot due to the JUCO event. Please note there was originally not supposed to be a date conflict between the two events. Even the PG folks who attended our event were impressed with the talent in Lakeland.

So it seems to me that you are the only one unhappy with the Nike event and you weren't even there. I want to extend an invitation for the South Florida Bandits to come to the Nike event next year. At the request of the many coleges who enjoyed our weekend the plan is for it to be a different weekend than Perfect Game event so they can attend both events. We'd love to have your club here sp you can experience the value firsthand.
