Update on Dean Johnson? Anyone know where he landed? I thought he was at Glendale Community College, but can't find him on the Fall 2010 roster.
Johnson is at Glendale in CA and playing baseball. They haven't posted a fall roster. You may have looked at Glendale in AZ.
May as well start this up again...

I think South County will be a very tough team this year. They have two very good pitchers in Beal and Frazier with Bondurant and Perez leading the hitting department.
Patriot looks like it will again be the toughest district. South County could be in for an outstanding year, as Golfball explains. Woodson's 4 senior D-1 pitchers should keep them in every game. Lake Braddock will be Lake Braddock. And the defending state champs will find some way to reload.
Madison and Stonebridge return the most talent in Liberty. Marshall's young team from last year could move up a notch or two.

Agreed on South County, LB and Woodson...who is the 4th D1 pitcher from Woodson? I know about the twins and Wyslocki...4th?
Mclean will have to be a bit down after losing so much, but Sborz is back and I heard about a transfer pitcher helping out.
Westfield? Centreville? Faifax, with Freeman returning? Madison?

Washington Post recruiting section says Bryson Hough has a couple offers.
West Potomac will be good this year but are still young. Next year (2012), I think they will be one of the best, if not the best team in the Patriot District.

I have to know why you think this???? Not doubting, but that would be a HUGE improvement. Transfers?

Bryson is a VERY good pitcher...figured it was him, but didn't hear that he committed...good kid...good for him....I have been told he is their most feared pitcher...

Saw them play a couple of times last year and they were competitive. Most of their starters were sophomores and one freshman if I remember right. They also beat West Springfield late in the year. I may not be right but have a hunch they will be good down the road.

I think the WS vs WPo game was a fluke, it was senior night and the regular WS squad did not play. Bobby did not pitch. If I recall, WPo had a difficult time hitting against most of the Patriot District, maybe because they were young and not used to Varsity ball. I do not see them in the top 4 in 2011. I would look for WTW, LB, SoCo, WS, TC in that order. Upset would be TC it depends on who they get as their new Coach.

Agreed...what about Fairfax? VanderPlast is a stud. Who will follow him? Robinson? Annandale?
I would look for LB/SC or SC/LB then WTW or WS. WTW has four pitchers that are really good but they will have to be able to muster up some runs. WS won't have the pitching they've had over the last three years but they do have some very good ball players and will be a tough opponent every game.
I think Woodson will have some bats, maybe not as many as last year, but they will put up some runs. If Joe mcgillicudy is in the lineup when he's not pitching, like John has been, that will be a big plus.
JMO, but pitching wins this district. Case and point: WS. WTW has 4 decent pitchers and I think they hit pretty well last year.
There is no way Woodson wins this district. Definitely good arms, but no shutdown pitcher and they lost way to much hitting.
LB,SC,West/Woodson and I hope TC right in the mix.

I agree with Golfball.....LB and SC are top two in the Patriot (and region). Order doesnt really matter but if I had to pick one now Id take Braddock. Patriot is by far the best district once again as Id say that WTW and West Springfield could likely be considered preseason favorites in any of the other three districts. JMO. No disrespect to the other three NR districts.
In the Concorde Ill take Westfield at the top with Herndon and Oakton much improved and a lot of parody in the middle with Centreville Robinson and Chantilly all being solid. Liberty will be a much better and deeper overall district after going thru McLean for the past couple of years (til last years title game). Ill take Madison and SB at the top with McLean and Fairfax not far behind and Langley and Marshall much improved as well.
In the National Ill go with Yorktown and Hayfield with W-L in the mix as always. No real rhyme or reason to this one other than I think Hayfield has a couple of quality players and Yorktown is always at or near the top.
