For you Northwest fans, an outstanding pitcher from your school back in the 9-4A days, Rett Varner is now at UTA after redshirting as a freshman last year at BYU. Rett has been throwing the ball well and with some pop (probably teams hardest thrower) and is being counted on to be a major contributer to the Maverick pitching staff this year.

Thanks for the scoop, tguf...I saw him on the UTA roster. tychcokid#1 got to play with Rett during Rett's senior year. He carried us on the mound. Great arm and great kid and it is good to see him back in Texas!

Rett took great care of our little freshman his senior year! We wish him the best!
The Mav's got new fans in us when they brought him home!
