I live in NISD and my son will be a freshman this fall. My understanding of Coach Hendrix is he is 27 YO and played collegiately at Abilene Christian. I don't know if he played beyond that. He has been at Sweetwater.

It is my opinion that Coach McAngus was not wanting a more experienced coach because he wants to insure he has no problems keeping kids in the football program. I do not think he wants baseball to fail, he just doesn't want it to succeed at the expense of football.

Having said that, a young coach from outside the area might just be what the doctor ordered. He certainly deserves an opportunity to get the program going in the right direction. With the growth of the district, this would be a great time for him to do just that.

This is slowly becoming a point of contention in the district. Originally, the plan was to open a second HS in TC in the fall of '09. As the issue has dragged on, the district growth has occurred more on the west side of the district than the east (TC). Therefore, it appears the HS opened in '09 will be on the west side, but nothing has been resolved yet. Eventually both will be built...it is just a matter of when.
