This is from our local paper. These are serious charges. IMO there is no way our principal or coaches would have let this kid play, star or not.

A Lafayette High basketball player, who was arrested last weekend for possession of an illegal gun and drugs, was allowed to play Friday's Class 5A state quarterfinal game against Destrehan.
According to police reports, 18-year-old Josh Wiltz, a senior starter on the team, was arrested for illegal use of weapons, possession of marijuana, illegal use of a controlled drug and illegal carrying of a weapon.

Lafayette High head basketball coach Clifton Brown confirmed Friday afternoon that Wiltz would play in the game.

We had 5 players suspended from the baseball team last year right before the state tournament. No one was arrested, in fact the law wasn't involved at all. The coaches just found out that these boys had been drinking after Prom. They ended up not playing in the State Tournament. I can't imagine being in legal trouble and getting to play.
