My son has been offered three official visits. I realize that some schools would like an answer pretty quick after the visit.....but prior to all other visits being taken. Knowing what an important decision this is, we would like to visit/evaluate all schools prior to making the decision. Would any one have suggestions on the best way to handle this with the schools. We don't want to feel pressured into making a decision without all our facts laid out; yet we don't want to "turn-off" or lose an opportunity with a particular school. Thanks in advance for any help or suggestions.

We as a family took the approach with scheduling visits that we had to have an idea how interested the school was...This is with regards to $$$, playing time, fit and a lot of the particulars that have been discussed here. We figured out that each visit will place a financial impact of a mimimum cost of $1000. per visit. Airfare for both parents, rental car etc.
Someone wrote here a while ago that they went on a visit that cost more then the offer that was made. I'm sure there are players that have been offered 10+ visits. The decision as to which ones to take will have to be weighed heavily.
From our high school program 4 out of 5 graduating seniors will be playing college ball. The fifth one will try to walk on at a D1 top 25 team. Everyone of the 4 had telephone conferences with the respective coaches about financial packages before they took official visits. In other words everyone had some idea of the $$$ they were going to get before making the visit.

It is a little dangerous taking or using up an official visit without having some idea of how badly you are wanted.
